OUR FOCUS
Our focus in raising funds for Anurag is securing a sponsor for every child at Anurag. We have partnered with Compassion International and they sponsor about 590 children in the Anurag Unnati Bal Vikas Kendra (after-school program for older kids). Private individuals are nor sponsoring the 83 children in the Anurag Covenant Primary School.
Out of nearly 1,000 children enrolled in its various programs, just over 200 kids lack financial sponsors (as of February, 2009). While all children receive the same benefits and care, there is a monthly shortfall. We are looking for enthusiastic donors and sponsors to help close the gap in Anurag's monthly operating budget.
How You Can Help
- Immediate Needs. 120 children need sponsors. A sponsorship costs $25/month and can be paid all at once, quarterly, monthly or however you like. If you sponsor a child, you will receive a biography and facts about that child’s family. Also, the staff at Anurag will translate letters to Hindi and vice versa so you can communicate with your sponsored child, if you wish.
- There are 125 students in the Sewing and Tailoring Program. Of these, 75 students lack sponsors. You can sponsor a young woman in this program for $25/month, which incluvvvdes instruction, course materials, meals, uniform, and health care. You would also be able to give gifts at appropriate times of the year.
- There are 70 infants and toddlers in the Day Care Program. Of these 70 children, 45 lack sponsors. You can sponsor a child in the Day Care Program for $25/month, which includes all the same amenities as those listed above in the Sewing and Tailoring Program.
- General Donations. Anurag has other needs and financial requirements beyond its day-to-day operations.
- Water coolers for clean, drinking water
- Computers for children as well as for the young adult program
- Building Fund. Anurag rents 5 properties in Lado Sarai. We have begun a campaign to raise funds for a building that will house most of the Anurag programs.
- Healthcare Clinic. We need financial support to continue and expand our healthcare operations.
